I stumbled upon this lovely cloak on one of my lucky days at Eponyme Vintage. Beyond its pleasing aesthetics and overall coolness, this cloak holds a special place in my heart because it is signed Old England.
Do you remember Old England, the lovely Parisian boutique (as obviously indicated by the name…) near the Opera House? The gorgeous shop, which was launched by Alexandre Henriquet in 1867, after he left his job at the famous Bon Marché department store, always played on tasteful British touch and impeccable quality. Since its opening during the Second Empire, gentleman and ladies have always been attracted to this shop and its old-fashioned charm. Fast-forward 145 years and Old England had become a notoriously Parisian place.
I loved browsing Old England in my youth. It was a travel through time and space. Unfortunately, the travelling came to an end in 2012.
